Fancy Frills at Graph'It Colouring Challenge

Good morning folks, I don't know about making cards I think we should be building an arc as it's been raining all week. We're forecast for some better weather over the weekend though so fingers crossed. We've got a new challenge starting at Graph'It Colouring challenge and this time our theme is 'Fancy Frills' so a good excuse to make a pretty girly card to be in with a chance of winning gorgeous Graph'It goodies from Premium Craft Brands I've coloured this beautiful image which I was lucky enough to win a couple of weeks ago, she's from Delicious Doodles and is printed on Ultimate Graphic 160gsm card. Finding the perfect colouring card is a bit of a nightmare but this stuff is by far the best I've tried, love it (you can find it here)

I've used backing paper from Tim Holtz, distressed with a craft knife and a little Walnut Stain distress ink I used red line tape and cosmic shimmer glue to create my ribbon and lace frills and then added some pretty pearly trim to make sure nothing falls off lol.

The image is coloured with my Graph'It markers, you can find a full list of colours over on the Challenge blog. I've also used my White Graph'It shake pen to create the polka dots on her top.

I've gone to town with embellishments, adding flowers, acetate butterflies, beaded pins, button and bow, faux pearls and even a little butterfly peg.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Artistic Inspirations: Things with wings

Summer Fairies from Chocolate Baroque

Good morning, hope you have had a lovely long weekend even if the weather was awful. Its back to work for me this morning and I just wanted to let you know that the Summer Fairies have arrived at Chocolate Baroque, this is the fourth release so now all 4 seasons are available in these beautiful stamps! Pop over and have a look at them here

I've used the gorgeous Fuchsia image from the August Fairy set as my focal image, coloured with Graph'It markers and die cut with a sizzix die and inked with Picked Raspberry distress ink. I've made a distress ink background with shades of pink and purple and added lots of lace, ribbon, pearl trim, cheesecloth fabrix, gems and a little paper flower.
Once I'd got it all finished I decided it needed a little fairy peeping at the flower so I gritted my teeth and stamped the little fairy (also from August) with purple Memento ink, keeping my fingers crossed that it stamped ok and didn't completely bodge up the whole card lol. Fortunately it worked, phew!!!!

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Charisma Cardz: May flowers
Crafty Creations: flowers, die cut, ribbon, purple
Dream Valley: things with wings
Fab'n'Funky: ribbon, pearls/rhinestones
One Stitch at a time: anything goes

Well my darling fur baby Benji seems to be doing well on his new meds, the vet is pleased with him and all his blood results are fine so fingers crossed he'll be with us a while longer. Here he is looking a bit thoughtful, isn't he adorable?

Our puppy is 2 today so there will be toys and treats later, where have the last two years gone? Here's the birthday boy, just about to pounce on an unsuspecting fly lol

Thanks so much for popping by, i'm off to work now and then to pick up my new specs. How exciting I'll be able to see what I'm doing now lol

Floral Inspiration at PanPastel UK

Good morning folks, we're having some dreadful weather here this weekend but the sun came out yesterday for long enough to take the dogs for a walk, their first walk for a good few days as Benji has got the ok from the vets to have a short walk each day yippeeeee!  There's still another week to enter our Floral Challenge at PanPastel UK, our lucky winner will receive some gorgeous goodies from Premium Craft Brands!

I've made a little wall hanging using some bright sunny colours I began by using a Dutch Doobadoo stencil and light modelling paste coloured with Hansa Yellow Tint and Diarylide yellow tint I sealed the colour with Maimeri Matte Medium and sprinkled some glitter over while it was wet for a bit of extra sparkle. The MDF heart was crackled with kroma crackle coloured with the same PanPastels and the sentiment is from Indigo Blu (a freebie from a craft mag) stamped on tissue and applied with Matte medium) I've stamped some butterflies, from the new stamps by Premium Craft Brands, and layered up flowers, Dutch Doobadoo laser cut swirls and buttons, Dutch Doobadoo Honeycomb and lots of flowers. The flowers are made with crinoline fabric, Maimeri Iridescent Medium, PanPastels and more glitter.

I've done a quick step by step tutorial if you fancy having a go at making them

1 Brush Maimeri Iridescent Paste over your fabric and apply some PanPastels, brushing the colour in until you're happy with the shade

2 While wet, sprinkle on some glitter and then leave to dry

3.  Die cut your flowers (the colours look a bit weird as I took these picks by electric light so apologies for the strange colours) I've also added some pink and blue flowers that were left over from another project (I think they may have been coloured with dylusions inks)

4. Layer your flowers up, I've added some layers that I die cut from netting too I've used my hot glue gun to layer them up

5. Using some more hot glue, pop a blob of glue in the centre of your flower and pop in some beads (or glitter/microbeads etc) Cup your hand to shape the flower and they are ready to use. In real life they have a lovely shimmer and sparkle but it hasn't show up too well at all

I'm entering this project in the following challenges:
A Little bit crafty: flower power
Alphabet Challenge: H for Handmade embellishments
Craftitude: anything goes/use a die
Dies R Us: flowers
Paper Pretties: flowers
Unruly Paper Arts: Fabric Frenzy

I've coloured the image with Graph'It markers and added a stencilled background (ok it was to cover up a big pink fingerprint lol) I've used a backing paper from my stash, using scraps of the paper to stamp the butterflies on

I've added pink ribbon, black lace, a lovely little metal filigree corner and some tiny black faux pearls to the flowers on the image and the corners The sentiment is also from Chocolate Baroque, its from the Mackintosh Sentiments set, its a gorgeous font.

Oranges and Lemons at Graph'It

Good morning folks, Friday again and we've got another long weekend here in the UK yipppeeeeeee! Words are all you need

Good morning my lovelies, well its been a very quiet weekend here with our poorly fur baby Benji resting his leg. He's a real Mum's boy and follows me everywhere so I couldn't go in my craft room as I didn't want him fall on the stairs. I wasn't going to give up crafting though so I just ended up bringing loads of stuff downstairs and taking over the dining room lol. I managed to get a couple of DT projects finished and decided to finish this project that I'd started making for the Indigo Blu Challenge where the theme is 'Words are all you need'

I knew I wanted to use this large sentiment, you can't see it very well as the photo is awful but it says "Courage, strength and determination that's what little girls are made of'. I'd given this old MDF shape a coat of gesso to cover the old design Next I set to and added some texture with Maimeri Light Modelling Paste  and a harlequin stenciland then set too with acrylic paints in pink and brown. I stamped the images which are also from Indigo Blu (Boadicea A5 set) onto tissue paper with black archival ink and painted them with Twinkling H2os, the sentiment was stamped with versamark and embossed with gold EP before applying them with Slap it on. To finish off I've added some Treasure Gold to highlight the texture and some flowers that I'd made using silicone moulds

I'm also entering this project in the following challenges:
Natalie and Amy's: Rubber stamping
Sunflower Fields: vintage/shabby/rustic

Florals at PanPastel UK

Good morning folks I hope you're enjoying this lovely sunny weather. My plans to spend the day in the sunshine fell through yesterday and my oldest fur baby Benji is really struggling to walk so the vet advised lots of rest so we're having a very lazy weekend. Anyway enough moaning and back to business, we've got a brand new challenge starting at PanPastel UK and this time our theme is 'Florals', so a nice easy one for you. You don't have to use PanPastels to enter and of course our lucky winner will receive a fab prize of goodies from Premium Craft Brands

I've made a kraft card tag for my project using the gorgeous new Premium Craft Brands stamps designed by Nikky Hall, I just love these stamps so much that i've used some from 3 of the new sets (Postcard, Roses and Stop) I've done lots of stamping with versamark and applied colour with PanPastels. The roses have been watercoloured with PanPastels and layered up on 3d foam pads.

For some extra definition I've added some stamping using distress inks too. I've added some hessian, a brass key charm and red seam binding. I've also used lots of Dutch Doobadoo goodies too including the gorgeous honeycomb softboard, laser cut butterflies and buttons.

Anything 3D at Fashionable Stamping Challenges

Hello folks, we've got a fab new challenge over at Fashionable Stamping Challenges and this time around our theme is 'Anything 3d'. There's a fab prize of a $20 voucher from Flonzcraft for our lucky winner and of course there's the honour of a place in the Top 3 too. Don't forget though we are a stamping challenge so make sure that the focus of your project is stamping.

I've altered a little wooden box for my DT project. I've primed it with Maimeri gesso and then added very pale pink and green acrylic paint and sanded back for a distressed look. I've stamped around the edges of the box and the lid with stamps from Flonzcraft and Crafty Individauls using Gold Stazon Ink, I used the stamp without a block to create a kind of vintagey look.

The focal image is also from Flonzcraft, you can find her here. I coloured some paper with Spun Sugar and Bundled Sage distress ink, stamped the image with Potting Soil archival and then die cut with a circle die. I then applied Pebeo resin stuff and left it to dry, its ages since i've used a two part resin and I got in the most awful mess lol.

To finish off I applied Treasure Gold around all the edges and added little brass feet and a handle from Crafty Individuals.

I'm entering this in the following challenges:

An Elegant Christmas with Chocolate Baroque

Good morning, today I've got a card featuring the gorgeous new Fabulous Flappers stamps from Chocolate Baroque. These stamps are gorgeous on their own but also will work beautifully with lots of other Chocolate Baroque stamps. My first thought when I say this lovely lady in her elegant coat was that she's look fab with one of my favourite Christmas stamps from The Gift of Christmas. I just love this lovely Christmas tree with the adorable pets silhouetted in front of it and of course its never to early to start those Christmas cards.

I began by stamping the lady and masking her with masking tissue. Next I stamped the tree stamp and masked that, if you find large silhouette stamps difficult to stamp my little trick is to go over the image with a black marker to cover any areas that I haven't stamped properly. I added a die cut circular mask to create the moon and set to work with distress inks and a blending tool to create the sky (I used faded jeans, stormy skies and chipped sapphire). Once the ink was dry I added silver PanPastel to the moon area for a little shimmer.

I removed the masks and coloured the images with Graph'It markers and added some red stickles to the lights on the tree. Once everything was dry I took a white Graph'It shake pen and added lots of snow

I've layered the card up over some card that I'd stamped with a snowflake stamp and then covered it up with ribbon and lace. To finish off I've added a white bow and a snowflake brad.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Artistic Inspirations: No designer papers
CRAFT: Christmas
Creative Corner: Going in circles
Holly Jolly: Christmas Greenery
Lexi's Creations: ribbon and lace
Loves rubber stamps: girly, glittery, glam
Sparkles Forum Christmas: Baby its cold outside

Well I think its time to grab a couple of hours in my craft room before I think about all the jobs that need doing in the garden lol. Have  a lovely day and thanks for visiting today

Pick a Colour Palette Inspiration and PanPastel Clouds Tutorial

Good morning, how's your weekend going? We're having a very rainy weekend here, perfect crafting weather! Today's card is my project for our 'Pick a Colour Palette' challenge inspiration post at PanPastel UK. You've still got a week to enter to be in with a chance to win some gorgeous goodies from Premium Craft Brands so hop on over to the Challenge blog for all the details
Here's my card made using the same basic colour palette as last week but this time I've gone for a seaside theme.

I've had quite a few requests for a tutorial on creating clouds with PanPastels so here's a step by step tut showing how I create clouds. Its a really easy technique and you can get different effects by using different colours too!

I always stamp my images first, for this scene I've used stamps from Crafty Individuals and Chocolate Baroque. You don't need to mask your images as you can remove PanPastels with a pencil eraser but if you've already made masks you may as well use them.

You'll also notice that I've used kraft card for this project, you don't have to use kraft, white card will do just as well but if I'm creating a sea scene I like to work on kraft as its perfect for the beach.

1. First step is to start laying down some colour in the sky area,  I usually begin with a tint, in this case I'm using turquoise tint but you can always use white with a touch of colour too, ultramarine blue also works perfectly for this technique.

2. Build the colour up using different shades of your chosen sky colour, I'm using turquoise  plus the tint and the shade

3. Once you've created your sky then take a pencil eraser (as you can see mine is very old and grubby but it does the trick lol) and begin to rub out the PanPastel where you want your clouds to be. Use circular movements and don't worry about being too precise as clouds are very random in shape.

4. Keep going until you've created your cloud shapes

5. Take a sofft sponge and white PanPastel and begin to apply the colour to your clouds in a dabbing motion

6. Continue applying the white PanPastel until you've covered all your 'clouds', again don't worry about being too precise, its good to have some variation in the depth of colour

7. Now to add a bit more depth to the clouds, I usually use Paynes Grey and Neutral grey, apply the colour with a sofft knife and cover using a flicking motion, creating little curves of colour

8. Keep adding greys to the clouds, don't worry if it looks a bit untidy as we'll blend it in the next stage

9 Blend the greys by dabbing on more white PanPastel

10 If necessary add more grey here and there, I like to add more to the underside of the clouds

11. Keep adding colour until you're happy with your clouds, you can get some really good effects using dark colours too - add some pink and purple to black and grey clouds to create a really stormy sky

Here's a close up of the little scene:

I've coloured the lady image with Graph'It markers and the rest of the scene with PanPastels, adding some white highlights with a Graph'It Shake pen. The shells were made with stamps from Chocolate Baroque, stamped onto white and kraft card with versamark and then coloured with Raw Umber and Burnt sienna PanPastels. The bunting was made from scraps of paper and attached with twine. I've layered the scene up over kraft and turquoise card, distressed with a craft knife and Raw Umber PanPastel

I'm entering this project in the following challenges:
Bunny Zoe's: distress
Clear it out: your style, your stash
(lots of my favourite products on here but PanPastels are my absolute favourite!)
Loves Rubber Stamps: anything goes
Sweet Pea Stampers: use kraft

I hope you're inspired to have a go at this technique, if you do please leave me a link to your project as I'd love to visit!
